State Revenue Committee moves tax filing deadline by 30 days due to COVID-19

The government of Kazakhstan declared a state of emergency starting from March 16 to contain the coronavirus outbreak. In this regard, the State Revenue Committee (SRC) has decided to grant an extended deadline to individual and business filers by 30 days in relation to tax returns, deadline for which falls on state of emergency period.

This decision does not move tax payment deadlines unless a taxpayer provides the tax authorities with a bank guarantee or a pledge. However, the SRC is considering ways to simplify the procedure of getting a delayed tax payment deadline.

In terms of tax administration, during the state of emergency, the SRC will suspend desktop tax audits, minimize number of field tax and customs audits, postpone ongoing administrative proceedings until the end of state of emergency.
